Lion Dance

In 1995, the Lion Dance of the Tacloban Filipino-Chinese Volunteer Fire Brigade, INC. was formed. Fire fighting instances are so rare that praticing Lion Dance can substitute for the brisk activity to keep the team fit and trim. It was our long range plan to phase out regular donations from the community.

Income generated during Chinese New Year, Business Establishment Inaguration, Birthdays, Fiestas, and etc. serves us to defray the maintenance of the fire trucks and equipments of the fire station. Excess funds are accumulated to buy handheld radios, battery pack, firemen coats, boots, helmet and etc. It can also serve as a mean of propagating the chinese culture and tradition to local population, something to counter Ati-atihan. Lion Dance pratices were held at the Leyte Progressive High School GYM.
